If There Be Dragons by Kay Hooper

We had a good meeting on Tuesday, October 6th. There was a lively discussion led by Lee Ann Patterson of our last book, If There Be Dragons by Kay Hooper. The book was a light read and not really the mystery we expected. We decided that we would have enjoyed the book more if we had not thought it was a mystery. It might make a good vacation book if you want something light.

Three members were in attendance:
Lee Ann Patterson
Sandy Gay
Pam Conner

Next meeting will be Tuesday, November 3, at 6pm at Conner Agency in Arlington. Heather Dismukes will lead us in a discussion of 1776 by David McCullough.

The book for discussion at our December meeting will be a true crime selection, The Stranger Beside Me by Ann Rule. If you want to lead the discussion please let me know.

If There Be Dragons

While I'm not completely sure that this book is a mystery, I have enjoyed reading it so far. I am about halfway finished with it and have enjoyed the metaphor of problems in our lives to dragons. I love the fact that the guy in the story, Cody, offers to slay the dragons in Brooke's life. Cody is willing to take Brooke however she comes and has surprised her so far with an insight into what is going on and has gone on in her life. She is reluctant to accept him at first, but he is slowly winning her over. I love the romance that is budding in this story. I am anxious to keep reading to see what happens next. I hope y'all are enjoying it as well!
